Our country needs to manufacture every such item for which the market is available in the country, that too with competitive prices.
India will have to increase the speed and quality of research work, as well as to play the role of an active partner in the research going on in the world.
The government and institutions engaged in manufacturing also need to analyze what is the reason that China is able to deliver cheaper goods from Indian goods to the remote markets of India even with additional tax.
Some of the main questions are as follows….
Will the high income group support this mission?
Breaking the brand loyalty of high-income people can be a difficult task. How can their loyalty to the top phone brand, apparel, vehicle or shoe brand etc. are reduced.
This will require a national strategy; it will need to be run regularly as a national mission.
Will the products be made keeping in mind the needs and purchasing power of the lower income group?
Just as it is a huge market segment, manufacturer will need to bring products for them as well. When we know that about 50% of the Indian population has very little purchasing power and they have full right to buy common facilities.
There is also a need to provide products for these 50% low income market. Because the requirements of this market are somewhat different and as the overall budget it is also a good value market.
This is also the target market for low quality products coming from abroad. Without fulfilling the needs of this market, you cannot wish for the success of local products.
